The Rosetta Design Group is looking for a talented individual with experience in AWS Cloud Computing and scripting to apply that experience to solving a real-world problem in human health involving large-scale modeling of vaccine targets. This work will build-on and extend previous published work in the field by Rosetta Design Group scientists.


The Rosetta Design Group is a CRO located in Burlington, Vermont that performs research in computational structural biology for non-profits, the US government, the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, and academic institutions. The Rosetta Design Group is a member of the Rosetta Commons, the consortium that develops the Rosetta Macromolecular Modeling Suite and FoldIt.


This internship is intended to provide a computationally oriented individual with exposure to the field of high performance computational structural biology. The Intern will work closely with the project lead and receive training in the fields of computational structural biology, virology, and immunology. The Rosetta Design Group supports the publication of any non-confidential results and methodologies that may be developed during the internship. This internship will be valuable to individuals seeking work in the pharmaceutical/biotech industries or exploring options in academic research in this field and bioinformatics.


  • Experience working with HPC and the AWS EC2
  • Experience with Unix/Linux
  • Ability to script in BASH, Python
  • Familiarity with using software from distributed development projects
  • Familiarity with the command line interface and basic text file processing
  • Knowledge of biochemistry and structural biology a plus but not required
